architrays

Project inspired by the variety of forms and details present in different architecture movements. It is a design study exploring the differences between various styles and implementing some of their characteristics into simple, aesthetically pleasing, functional desk accessories.

We have translated large scale details into everyday objects, therefore; bridging the gap between architecture and product design. Each Architray highlights a specific detail found in its corresponding style. The presented run includes only four of the multitude of existing architectural styles.

This project was brought to fruition through the online crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Upon launch it was selected as a staff pick and label as “Project we love!”. It doubled its funding goal and has been on sale at numerous retailers most notably the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.
