the clocks

This series of clocks is designed as a way to showcase the new life of a discarded material.

Made from reprocessed HDPE plastic, each clock has only one hand reading out the minute, while a cutout on the face tells you the hour as it passes by. We wanted to elevate a neglected material and transform it to an elegant centerpiece. Each clock has a one of a kind pattern similar to organic materials, although made with industrial elements.

This series was created and exhibit for The American Design Club‘s annual exhibition which was held during NYCxDesign in May 2018. The theme for this event was “Built.” Designers were invited to design and make a functional object that demonstrates thoughtful constuction methods and/or material manipulations.
